SVP in Monmouth
Here in Monmouth we currently have 9 members.
Meetings are held once a month, usually on Monday or Thursday at about 0945 in the Parish Room.
We make regular visits to about 12 people and to residents in Gibraltar Care Home.
We also do our best to respond to direct appeals for help from people in difficulties.
During Advent we organise an appeal for, and then deliver, small Christmas gifts to people and families in need, and to the inmates at the Forensic Psychiatric Unit at Llanarth Court.
ANNUAL MASS AND TEA
We also arrange an annual Mass and Tea for those who find it hard to get to church. This is held at Bridges Community Centre, usually in June, and all parishioners are welcome.
This year the Parish Community Mass and Tea organised by the SVP will be held in the Agincourt Hall, Bridges Community Centre, Monmouth, on Wednesday 30th June 2010, 2.30 – 4.30 p.m.
This event is organised primarily for parishioners who have difficulty getting to church, but all parishioners, with their families and friends, are very welcome!
Fr. Nicholas will celebrate Mass at 2.30 pm, and this will be followed by tea.
If you’d like to help by making something for tea (cakes, scones, sandwiches), please contact Helen Quinn, (01600) 713728.
For help with transport, please contact Michael Hoddinott (01989) 768559.
