St James's Church, Namutumba, Uganda
The Catholics of Namutumba first asked for our help in 2002. Since then St Mary's, Monmouth, and St Mary & St Michael, Llanarth, together with other donors, have sent generous annual donations sufficient to build a large church dedicated to St. James.
The new target is to help them build a house for a priest. When this is done the Bishop has promised that St James's will become a proper parish with a priest instead of just an "outstation" with Mass only a couple of times a year.
Joseph Baganda, the catechist in charge at St James's, writes "We are grateful to you for all your donations and we always remember you in our Sunday prayers."
